Theater studies, or theaterology, lead to an understanding of the art of theater in all its forms and functions. At our department, we explore Czech and world theater history, contemporary drama, and staging practices in local and international theaters; we produce translations of plays and engage in theater criticism. The department’s key priorities include interdisciplinary collaboration, actively building connections with the theater industry, and fostering an interest in culture and knowledge among the younger generation.
