Mgr. Bc. Iva Mikulová, Ph.D.


Assistant Professor

Dr. Iva Mikulová focuses on the Czech regional theatre of the 2nd half of the 20th century, especially the 1950s.

Dr. Mikulová studied Teaching for Lower Secondary Schools (Czech and German) at the Pedagogical Faculty of Palacký University in Olomouc, where she received a Master´s Degree in the Theory and History of Theatre at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno, where she received her Bachelor´s Degree. In 2016, she finished her PhD studies at the Department of Theatre Studies in Brno with her thesis, Karel Novák, Theatre Director (1916–1968).

From 2012 to 2014, she worked at the Municipal Theatre in Zlín as an archivist and dramaturgy lecturer. She also worked as the editor-in-chief of the ROzRazil online journal and of the Municipal Theatre Zlín's journal, “Tady a teď” (Here and Now). Together with Marcel Sladkowský, she wrote the book “Municipal Theatre Zlín. 70 seasons” (2015). From 2014 to 2017, she was an executive editor of Theatralia journal. At present, she works as an assistant professor at the Department of Theatre Studies, FF MU, and also at the Department for Research into 20th Century and Contemporary Literature of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
