Karolína Stehlíková, Mgr., Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

She focuses on Scandinavian theatre, film and literature, world theatre and practical lexicography both in her lectures and research.

She studied Theatre Science and the Norwegian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts in Masaryk University. In 2007 she finished her PhD study programme “the Theory and History of Art and Culture” with her thesis “Language Used in Drama at the End of the Twentieth Century (A Textual Analysis of Works by Jon Fosse and their Place in the Scandinavian Context). During her studies she spent two terms at universities in Norway (Tromsø and Oslo).

Between 2000 and 2013 she worked at the Support Centre for Students with Special Needs at Masaryk University. From 2007 she cooperated with the Department of Theatre Studies and the Department of German, Scandinavian and Dutch Studies. Since 2015 she has been a full-time employee of the Department of Theatre Studies at the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University.

She translates contemporary drama, prose and theatre literature. She helps present Scandinavian drama in Czech theatres and on the radio. She works with the cultural organization of Scandinavian House.
